A2Z Series - Y Is For 'You'

Hi NaiLovelies!

Oh how I wish I had more time on my hands at the moment to create these manicures and get them posted on time and not leave it to the last minute.  Well anyone who knows me will know that this is me all over!  So I guess it is fitting that this weeks penultimate manicure in the A2Z Challenge is 'YOU'.  We have now reached the letter Y with just one week to go until the end of the series.

I knew that I wanted to stamp this manicure because it is my favorite nail art technique and one that I can actually do.  It is also one that I really love.  I also have huge love of negative space stamped manicures.  I kinda took my inspiration from there and picked one of my favorite colours (pink) to showcase this manicure.  To complete this manicure and make it totally me, I decided to frame the stamped image as I have wanted to do a framed manicure like this for AGES!

DRK Enlaced Plate
HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat

A short post from me this week but as always, don't forget to check out the Hub Page to see all of the other manicures created for this series and check out the Inlinkz for the beautiful manicures created for 'You' week.

See you all next week for the final manicure of this series, it has been alot of fun!!!

Back To Black....!

Hi NaiLovelies!

Negative space stamping is fast becoming a favourite of mine.  If I am honest I would be quite happy to work my way through all of my stamping polishes and come up with purely negative space stamped nails!  I love the simplicity of the process and the often striking end results...!

For this manicure, I wanted to wear black - but I also didn't want a boring pure black manicure; so this is what I came up with.

I applied LeChat Nobility Black gel polish to all of my nails apart from my ring fingers which I applied sheer black gel polish.  After applying two coats of gel polish, I removed the tacky layer from my ring finger before stamping the sheer nails with Wet 'n Wild Black Creme polish.

I left the stamping to completely dry for 5 minutes then applied topcoat to all of my nails - using two coats to the stamped nails. I removed the tacky layer and followed up with non-acetone remover to remove the over stamp from my skin and cuticles.

Because my fingernails are quite long, I decided against using the lace MoYou plate which I used for my previous advanced stamping manicure, instead I opted to use my favorite Dashica plate.   I needed an image with just the right amount of stamped coverage and as I have already created manicures using various images on this plate I opted to use the image which first drew me to this plate.

Black gel polish - LeChat Nobility Black
Simple Sheer - Gelish
Izzy Whizzy Let's Get Busy - Gelish
Black Creme stamping polish - Wet 'n Wild
Infinity 42 Plate - Dashica Beauty Shop

I totally love how this manicure turned out! I even experimented with creating a sheer black shimmery polish for the accent nail. Overall I couldn't have imagined a better outcome for this manicure.

Negative Space Lace Decals

Hi NaiLovelies!

After wearing the Ahead of the Game manicure for a couple of days, I decided to try my hand at a spot of negative space stamping....for the first time.

I used MoYou Bridal XL 07 plate for the stamping and decals and the same image for stamping the little fingernail.  Unfortunately, I ran into a small issue as the image used is a little bit too small for my ring fingernail.

I had to stretch the image before stamping it onto the decal tabs, which was another first for me. To stretch the design I picked up the image onto the stamper as normal but before transferring it to the decal, I removed the silicon stamper heard from the holder and stretched the image by lightly pressing the sides of the stamper head closer together.  This method can be used to both widen and or lengthen the required image.

This is the plate I used and the image has been highlighted above

The entire inspiration for this manicure came from the fantastic blog Nail Lacquer UK.  Thankfully, accompanying her fab blog post AJ also included a great step by step tutorial which shows very clearly how to create decal for this design.

I  really love how this turned out and I can't wait to try this design again and using a different colour for the base!
