Double Trouble

Hi NaiLovelies!

I have been playing in polish again!! This time I updated my Retro Rosette manicure with a spot of double stamping.  I love the effect of double stamping as it can make a very basic image look absolutely stunning and it is a relatively simple Advanced Stamping method.

I stamped each nail using Snake It Up, a metallic magnetic polish from Essie's RepStyle collection - which stamps incredibly well.  I followed this up by stamping the nails again with the image slightly off centre from the first stamped image to ensure it wasn't completely overlapped (easier said than done!).  I used the same image from the MoYou Suki 05 plate for both the first and the second stamp but you can use different images for double stamped manicures.

For the second stamp I used Outrageous by Pure Ice, a pretty pale pink opaque metallic polish.  My Fairy Godmother Lori sent this Pure Ice polish to me and it stamps like an absolute dream! I was pleasantly surprised with how well it went with the denim blue Essie and the hot pink gel polish base!!

A2Z Series - A Is For 'Angles'

Hi NaiLovelies!

I am super excited to be taking part in a fab nail bloggers A-Z challenge for the next 26 weeks!!!

Along with the company of such an awesome nail bloggers, I am looking forward to getting stuck into this new challenge and stretching my creativity whilst gaining some new artistic skills along the way....

Today is the first day of the alphabet challenge and the prompt for this week is Angles.

I am still wearing my IBD Retro Rosette manicure so to create this manicure I decided to stamp some interesting angled images on my nails.  I used two different image plates from my stash, MoYou XL Explorer 14 on my ring and index fingers then LeaLac LLC- B plate for my middle finger and pinky.

My favorite go-to black polish for stamping is Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme.  It flows onto the stamping plate and nails perfectly and it has a slim brush which is excellent to use when creating nail art.  The formula is thin but incredibly opaque so it takes just one coat to cover pretty much any colour underneath.  I used the Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme for both the stamped images and the black painted sections which I created by using simple striping tape.

I'm really pleased with how this quick manicure turned out!

Below is a picture of the manicure taken before I added the matte topcoat.  In the photos I prefer it shiny but in real life it looks awesome mattified.

Which do you prefer?

Mini Manicures ~ IBD Just Gel Polish Retro Rosette

Hi NaiLovelies!

You have probably noticed that nails are a lot shorter not to mention a completely different shape but it's business as usual so far as showcasing beautiful polishes goes.   I have the most amazing gel polish to show you today from IBD Just Gel Polish.

This stunning fuchsia shade is Retro Rosette and boy is it an absolute corker and a total tricky little trickster to capture correctly on camera!!

Pink

Creme

The formula was perfect.
Easy with no pooling or shrinking exactly what you expect from IBD Just Gel Polish.

Three easy coats but it covered perfectly in two coats.  I added another coat for strength.

This is just such a beautiful colour.   The formula is perfection as is the colour.  I have received quite a lot of queries as to similar coloured polishes and the nearest I have in my stash is IBD Frozen Strawberry - albeit minus the blue shimmer.  This is a blue toned super hot pink, it has purple undertones and is incredibly vivid neon-esque quality to it.  I can't fault this gel polish in any way!
