Multi-coloured Mermaid Scales

Hey everyone! I've had the busiest week ever, I've barely even see my boyfriend because I've been getting back home late every night, so it's nice to have had more of a relaxing Friday night (watching the original Ghostbusters - which I've never actually seen!). This has meant that finally I have time to write a blogpost without falling asleep midway through!  As I mentioned in my review of June's Meebox I created some nail art with the nail vinyls included in the box. I wanted to try them out with different colours so I used a number of colours from the Celestial Cosmetics - Pun-tastic Collection*, which I'm really loving using at the moment (as you saw in my last post). I also used the She Sells Sea Shells starfish studs from the Meebox to complete the design.

I used Celestial Cosmetics - This Is Panda-monium* as my base colour, then I used Freaking Meow-t*, Toucan Play That Game*, and Don't Listen He's Lion* over the top of the nail vinyls. Finished with the starfish studs and Seche Vite

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Gel II & GlitterArty Nails Manicure

Hi NaiLovelies!

I'm just popping in with a short and sweet post today to show you my current manicure which I created this week using a couple of nail art techniques and Gel II polishes from my collection.

I was recently added to a Facebook Group called GlitterArty Nails (I don't know who added me but I am very grateful!), I instantly fell in love with the round confetti glitter so like any self-respecting nail addict I hot footed it over to the GlitterArty eBay store and purchased a few jars to test out these little beauties.

I have been wanting to try Gel II Blue Coconut for ages - ever since I started using Gel II really.  Only a few clients have been brave enough to opt for this awesome blurple so I thought I would show them how awesome it could look.

I created feature nails using the Glitter Arty Nails glitter in the shade Pink Bombshell (holographic) and added a bit of Mapie Glitter Amira to create a fade but I prefer my right hand which does not have the addition of the Amira.

The other feature nail was created using a nail vinyl in the shape of a lightening bolt.  I love the negative space effect this has created.  I used Gel II American French Pink to fill in the negative space area.  American French Pink is an almost clear gel polish so it works perfectly with negative space designs.

For the other nails I just applied plain coats of Gel II Blue Coconut and Gel II Bright Purple.  Both colours are gorgeously pigmented and easy to work with.  Blue Coconut reached opacity at three coats and Bright Purple at two super easy coats.  I love how these two colours work together as the glitter really does pull the look together nicely.

A2Z Series - Z Is For 'Zig Zags'

Hi NaiLovelies!

This week brings to a close the current A2Z Challenge!  I can't believe how quickly time flies when you are having fun!  So, yep you guessed it, we have reached the final letter in the alphabet, 'Z' and the prompt word is ZIG ZAGS.

This week I have been wearing Gelish Vitagel  Recovery basecoat on my nails and teaming this with regular polish.  I fancied a bit of a change from a full gel manicure and it has been great being able to try out a range of different manicures (like this and this) which I wouldn't normally be able to do if I was simply covering my manicure with regular polish.  Another example of the type of manicure I could create was last weeks entry for the A2Z challenge.

To create this manicure I applied two coats of the beautiful Morgan Taylor, Party at the Palace and then created the golden hued zig zags by applying nail vinyls followed by a thick coat of OPI Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

So there we are, we have reached the end of the A2Z Challenge!  It has gone very quickly and I will definitely miss taking part in this challenge.  It has stretched me to be more creative with my manicures and it has also helped me to maintain a regular pattern of posting to the blog.

It has been fun and what I have enjoyed most of all is the camaraderie between all of the other ladies who have taken part in this challenge.

Don't forget, you can check out the Hub Page to see all of the manicures created in the entire series.
