Hey everyone! Today I have a review of half of the Gelish - Kung Fu Panda 3 Collection* to show you. There are actually 6 polishes in the collection altogether, but I was sent three, and if these 3 are anything to go by then the collection is definitely worth getting. You will have seen Kung Fu-chsia* yesterday in my one-stroke nail art, and it's probably my favourite from the collection. I didn't expect to like these as much as I do, but they all had great consistency, and of course because they're Gelish they also are of fantastic quality too. For the first time ever I've attempted 'macros'. I say 'macros' because I don't actually have a macro lens so they're the best I can do, but I wanted to show you that there was quite a lot of depth to some of these. I'd love to know your thoughts on the new images, and if they work! Full review after the jump.
It's Gonna Be Mei* is a pearlescent pink. Described as 'rose pearl' by Gelish. This was 2 coats, and they applied very smooth. However, brush strokes were still visible no matter how hard I tried to conceal them, and if you're not a fan of visible brush strokes this probably isn't the colour for you. I ended up liking this more than I expected, but at the same time it's probably my least favourite from the three. I didn't feel that this one needed a macro shot as the initial pictures show it pretty accurately.
Kung Fu-chsia* is a lovely vibrant pink. From the description of 'bright fuchsia pearl' on the website I expected this to be similar to It's Gonna Be Mei* and also be streaky, but upon application I found that the strokes weren't visible and it was just full of shimmer. This is my favourite of the three, and as you can see from the close ups below it's got more to it than first meets the eye, and it's completely streak free. This was 2 easy coats.
Po-riwinkle*, is a 'light periwinkle creme', which I think is the perfect way to describe it, although it omits the shimmer that's also within the polish, which can be seen in the close ups below. This was 2 coats, but when I re-applied for the macro shots (I forgot to take it the first time around) I needed 3 coats, so I guess it depends. Either way, application was smooth and it's a gorgeous colour
What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
