**UPDATE: This collection will be available from Friday 22nd August in 5ml bottles; larger bottles will be available soon**
Hello my friends! You may remember I recently blogged about a polish from UK indie brand Violet Rose (click here to see that post)? Well today I have two more to show you. As with the previous one, these are both from a collection which has been inspired by the names of some of Emma (the owner of Violet Rose)'s favourite places. Details of where to buy will be at the end of the post, so let's get to it!
Violet Rose "Icelandic Nights"
Icelandic Nights is a navy jelly with large metallic blue hexes, small silver holo hexes, and very fine silver holo glitter. As this is a jelly, it is fairly sheer. I applied three coats for a really deep look, but two thick coats would be fine if you aren't averse to a bit of VNL. This would also layer over dark colours very nicely. Application was easy, the particles are really packed in there so barely any need for fishing at all. The large hexes are ever so slightly curved so they don't lay completely flat to the nail, if this bothers you you could apply a slightly thicker layer of top coat, but they aren't sharp or rough in any way, and I think them not being totally flat allows them to catch the light more. Dry time was very good. My swatches show three coats with top coat.

Violet Rose "Aldeburgh"
Aldeburgh is a very pale grey crelly with a fine pearly shimmer and black and white matte glitters. This one was very nicely pigmented, being opaque enough to cover the nail completely with two coats, yet still allowing the glitters to show through. Absolutely zero fishing or placement was necessary here - application was easy peasy and dry time was good. My swatches show two coats with top coat.

These two polishes are really very pretty indeed, and are both unique within my collection. I love the deep, squishy effect of "Icelandic Lights" and the large hexes in particular look really pretty with the light glinting off them. "Aldeburgh" is one of the most "me" polishes I have encountered - I love grey, I love crellies, and I love matte black and white glitters. The added shimmer gives a beautiful ethereal look to it. So overall, I am very impressed with these polishes - great shades, and great formulas.
This collection will be available from Friday 22nd August in 5ml bottles; larger bottles will be available soon. You can buy Violet Rose nail polish (and handmade jewellery too) from their Etsy Store, and keep up to date with news on their Facebook page.
